You & Me

Today, 35 years ago! We have had many adventures together! This guy is my biggest Stampin' Up! fan! Believe it or not, we designed our own wedding invitation (our first card together!) He has helped me with convention swaps many, many, times by punching, cutting, stamping, and assembling! He's been to many conventions as a supporting demonstrator; and he was one of the first guys to walk around swapping (helping me to swap my hundreds of swaps)!  He was quite popular back in the day before it became the norm! Happy 35th Anniversary, Jim Olson! I'm looking forward to at least another 35 years of adventures!

Telescoping Hearts

Framelits

Framelits have revolutionized my stampin' world! I love the convenience and the perfectly cut shapes! They can be layered for effect like this telescoping heart card or used to make card shapes, etc.! This card was so easy! Designer Series Paper was the inspiration piece: it provided the color combo and inspired the choice for the Textured Impression Folder! Cut out hearts, add texture, layer, and you have a finished card! We have some new star framelits coming...I can't wait to make telescoping stars! Making Wishes

Perfect Pennants

I am loving the banner framelits! They make fun, quick layers; and they work especially well with the Perfect Pennants stamp set! I hung my wishing star on some silver baker's twine and accented it with a rhinestone to give it a little more "pop," and to make it fun! Living Happy

Simplicity, the key to living happy.

I love the simplicity of this card! The older I get, the more convinced I am that simplicity is one of the keys to living happy. When I was looking through my Color Coach for a color combo for this card layout, I went to the the In Colors first because I wanted to use the newer, thicker Baker's Twine. I was surprised to see Crisp Canteloupe paired up with Pink Pirouette; but there it is; an unlikely pairing with amazing results! I loved it immediately! I really like the heavier weight Baker's Twine and am excited that there will be more of it in the new catalog! For this layout I used what I call the, "Window Relief Technique," the top layer with a framelit creates a raised window and the image is stamped inside giving the impression of low relief. These are all sculpting terms - but I am sculpting in paper! Click any of the images below to be taken to my online store where you can add any of these amazing products to your crafting collection! In The Pink Best Wishes

Petite Petals

I have to admit, I really loved the You're Lovely stamp set from Sale-a-bration and am saddened that it is no longer available for you! However, I am excited to share that the 2014 Inspire, Create, Share catalog that goes live June 1st has another awesome set that features the Deco Label Framelits so all of these great layout ideas can be reused with different stamps and new products! Awesome sauce! I thought that the Petite Petal stamp set went well with this set so decided to pair them up! The flower centers are accented with a little Dazzling Details. Petite Petals works well as an accent set and by itself! Click any image below to go to my online store to add these great products to your crafting collection!

Lovely Deco Labels

You're Lovely

This card has multiple layers but it was still easy! The You're Lovely set from Sale-a-bration is no longer available but you can easily duplicate this card with another set! Just pick out your designer series paper, choose a card stock to mat it on before layering it on to your card base. Choose something to "break the middle." In this instance I used a strip of cardstock stamped with coordinating ink but ribbon works well, too.! Then layer your focal point; it's that simple! Using designer series paper AKA background paper to create cards is a wonderful starting place for beginning stampers/card makers. The paper contains your color palette; making the color choices easy for layering and stamping. Choose how you want to use the paper for layering, then add a stamped focal point and maybe a few accessories to accent the image! For this card the image had a floral design underneath the greeting. Rather than color the image with markers to get the flowers a different color than the rest of the image; I punched out some small flowers, placed pearls in the centers, and arranged them over the flowers under the greeting in the stamped image. The stamped image is also layered to have multiple colors: the image was stamped once in Crisp Cantaloupe and once in Pistachio Pudding. The greeting in the center was punched out of the Pistachio Pudding with a circle punch and then layered over the top of the same image in the Crisp Cantaloupe! These are simple little tricks that add dimension and interest to your cards! Thanks for stopping by!
